Does Universes Beyond Kill the Game's Magic?

<p>Hold onto your chili dogs, because it's about time to queue up! The <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em> drops for <em>Secret Lair</em> are almost live. But collectors beware; you gotta queue fast if you want to snag them in time!</p>
<p>To reiterate <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">our <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/secret-lair-x-sonic-three-new-drops-officially-announced" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previous coverage of these drops</a>, each one (except <em>Friends &amp; Foes</em>, which is $10 more across the board) has a retail price point of $29.99 for non-foil and $39.99 for</span> foil. The three drops are also going to be headed to your local game stores in August (presuming they're in good standing with the Wizards Play Network and have some allocated). For those daring enough to brave the queues of the <em>Secret Lair</em> webstore, you can find them at 9 AM Pacific Time. That's Noon for the East Coast of the US!</p>

<p>Notably, the <em>Secret Lair x Sonic: Friends &amp; Foes</em> drop only has mechanically unique cards in it and will most likely run out of stock first. After that, the <em>Turbo Gear</em> drop will probably sell out, followed by the <em>Chasing Adventure</em> drop. Foil printings will more than likely outsell nonfoil for each respective drop.</p>

Sonic Secret Lairs Live 9 AM PST, Noon EST

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hello, everyone! Welcome back to another deck tech; I'm <a href="http://linktr.ee/commandzoe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Command Zoe</a>. This time we're going to be looking at one of the new commanders from the <em>Sonic Secret Lair</em>, Knuckles the Echidna! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Knuckles is a fan favorite character from the original Sega Genesis games; he was a rival of Sonic before teaming up with him in a later installment. I'm excited to show you this list I brewed up, but first let's take a look at him</span></p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><em>Get it? He's the keeper of the Master Emerald, so he cares about rocks!<br />
Anyway, that's why I'm running Mox Emerald in here — that's cool right?</em></p>
<h3>What Does Knuckles the Echidna Do?</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Knuckles is a straightforward but incredibly powerful commander. He has three keywords that work well with each other, he grants all his controller's creatures the ability to create Treasure tokens upon dealing combat damage to a player, and then he has an upkeep trigger that wins the game with thirty artifacts. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The idea of the design is to have him hit the board and immediately generate two Treasures using a combination of haste and double strike, with trample on there to guarantee he doesn't get chump-blocked. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With only two power, he's not dealing a ton of damage, but that doesn't matter because the goal is to win Treasure tokens on the upkeep trigger.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There are three other mono-red commanders that care about Treasure tokens: <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer" href="#" target="_blank">Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Magda, Brazen Outlaw" href="#" target="_blank">Magda, Brazen Outlaw</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Magda, the Hoardmaster" href="#" target="_blank">Magda, the Hoardmaster</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Both Magdas come with some sort of payoff for those Treasures, but none of them are quite as powerful as "win the game". </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Knuckles probably wont be able to reach the high-highs of Brazen Outlaw, which is a cEDH deck, but he is a fun card with a very powerful effect, which would be perfect for any of brackets 2, 3, or 4.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This Knuckles deck is going to be within Bracket 3. It technically has three extra turn spells in cards like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Final Fortune" href="#" target="_blank">Final Fortune</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, but it can't chain them. They're only in the deck to be able to trigger Knuckles' upkeep-ability immediately.</span></p>
<h2>Key Cards for Knuckles the Echidna</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The main win condition in this deck is quite obviously Knuckles' second ability, so we want to rush up to twenty-nine total permanents on the board then cast both key card of the deck: <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mycosynth Lattice" href="#" target="_blank">Mycosynth Lattice</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Following that up with an extra turn spell will allow an instant win off of Knuckles when the turn rolls over to the next upkeep. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In addition to these, two keys to the deck are the tutors to get them out. Everything else is there to push the board to thirty permanents.</span></p>

<p>To help get there the deck has <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Reckless Handling" href="#" target="_blank">Reckless Handling</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Inventors&#039; Fair" href="#" target="_blank">Inventors&#039; Fair</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Goblin Engineer" href="#" target="_blank">Goblin Engineer</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, which can be used in conjunction with cards like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Trash for Treasure" href="#" target="_blank">Trash for Treasure</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> or either of Daretti's cards to get the Mycosynth Lattice out.</p>
<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Goblin Matron" href="#" target="_blank">Goblin Matron</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> can play a game of telephone to get it out by searching for the Engineer first. It can also snag a Grenzo, Havoc Raiser in case more permanents are needed but none are in hand.</p>

<em>Both flavors work! Trade your Treasures for permanents that make more Treasures!<br />

<p>Instant board state cards, like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Brass&#039;s Bounty" href="#" target="_blank">Brass&#039;s Bounty</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, can be extremely useful at making the final push to thirty cards.</p>
<p>Playing it along with <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Magda, Brazen Outlaw" href="#" target="_blank">Magda, Brazen Outlaw</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> can go for infinite by snagging Lattice plus <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Clock of Omens" href="#" target="_blank">Clock of Omens</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. Tap the Magda plus a Treasure to untap the Magda. Make a new Treasure, and use it infinitely. Then just sacrifice 5 Treasures at a time to spit the entire deck's permanents onto the battlefield, then finally win by sacrificing <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Anger" href="#" target="_blank">Anger</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> to a sac outlet and attacking with everything.</p>
<h2>How Does This Knuckles the Echidna Commander Deck Win?</h2>
<p>Getting to thirty permanents can be difficult, so there are some tricks to make a lot all at once.</p>
<p>With <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Krark-Clan Ironworks" href="#" target="_blank">Krark-Clan Ironworks</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> plus <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Song of Totentanz" href="#" target="_blank">Song of Totentanz</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hell to Pay" href="#" target="_blank">Hell to Pay</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, each artifact sacrificed will turn into two new permanents, effectively doubling the number on the board if there is a Lattice out.</p>
<p>There are a few other ways to do the same that take more set up, like adding <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Xorn" href="#" target="_blank">Xorn</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Treasure Vault" href="#" target="_blank">Treasure Vault</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> to KCI, or using <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Goldspan Dragon" href="#" target="_blank">Goldspan Dragon</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> as the Treasure-doubler.</p>

<p>In terms of alternate win conditions, there's only one, since the commander comes with its own "win the game" ability. However, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hellkite Tyrant" href="#" target="_blank">Hellkite Tyrant</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is strictly better in terms of how many permanents are needed, so it goes in the ninety-nine. Needing one third the number of permanents is too good to give up, and the theft ability is nothing to write off either.</p>

Knuckles the Echidna Commander Deck Tech

<p>If you've reached this <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Dr. Eggman" href="#" target="_blank">Dr. Eggman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> deck tech with legitimately anything but the most villainous intentions, you may be disappointed to know that this deck, based around that most dastardly villain, is true to form.</p>

<p>This deck revolves around <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em>'s mad scientist antagonist and his Construct and Robot minions. Are you strapped in and ready for a ride? Let's go!</p>
<h2>What Does Dr. Eggman Do?</h2>
<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Dr. Eggman" href="#" target="_blank">Dr. Eggman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is a discard commander, first and foremost. His ability to either cause a discard or force your opponent to allow you to put a Construct, Robot, or Vehicle onto the battlefield is a fairly intuitive one for your foes.</p>
<p>Spoiler alert: unless an opponent has a vital response to something and need to keep it in hand, they will generally opt to discard before they'll allow you to cheat in a Construct.</p>
<p>In addition, Dr. Eggman draws you a card at every one of your end steps. This further fuels the options you have handy for cheating in an artifact of some sort.</p>
<p>Finally, as a 3/6 body for <span class="mana-container-container"><span class="mana-container"><i class="ms ms-cost ms-2" style="margin-left: inherit !important;"></i></span><span class="mana-container"><i class="ms ms-cost ms-u" style="margin-left: inherit !important;"></i></span><span class="mana-container"><i class="ms ms-cost ms-b" style="margin-left: inherit !important;"></i></span><span class="mana-container"><i class="ms ms-cost ms-r" style="margin-left: inherit !important;"></i></span></span>, Dr. Eggman won't swing in for much damage, but he's a fantastic flying blocker much of the time.</p>
<h3>Which Commander Is Dr. Eggman Most Comparable To?</h3>
<p>On the surface, Dr. Eggman feels fairly similar to <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Davros, Dalek Creator" href="#" target="_blank">Davros, Dalek Creator</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. Off the bat, they're both legendary Scientist creatures in the blue-black-red (Grixis) color identity. They're both <em>Universes Beyond</em> villains, and they are both relatively evil. These comparisons can't be ignored. Nevertheless, the biggest differences they share are in the villainous choice they offer your opponents.</p>
<p>Sure, both have something to do with board state advantage, card draw, and opposing discard. The buck stops there, however. Dr. Eggman affects all of your opponents automatically; Davros needs opponents to lose life before their pain can truly begin.</p>

<p>As for the way this deck wants to operate, the strategy is that of an overwhelming force of Construct creatures, many of which are easy to cheat in with Dr. Eggman himself. With over 50 sources of mana and a glut of robotic creatures (if not Robot creatures), it's plausible to think the pilot of this deck will be able to power out the good Doctor sooner than players may expect, and then begin churning out value.</p>
<p>With the versatility of Constructs, the deck should be well-equipped to present many different tough situations for opponents.</p>
<h2>Key Cards for Dr. Eggman</h2>
<p>Various good choices exist for a Dr. Eggman deck. Here, I'd like to highlight two key aspects of the deck:</p>
<ul>
<li>Strong Constructs and Robots for when your opponents make the wrong decision</li>
<li>Cards that punish opponents for making the <em>right</em> decision</li>
</ul>
<p>It's no surprise that, as soon as many people looked up this <em>Secret Lair</em> drop, they were encouraged to "always choose discard" when they face down Dr. Eggman. This is widely the right decision; after all, better the devil you know, right? ...Right?</p>
<h3>A Construct Toolbox for Your Hand</h3>
<p>Fret not, for there <em>is hope</em>! There are those foolish enough to forgo discarding without the foresight to properly estimate the versatility of the cards Dr. Eggman can and will eventually cheat into play. To that end, here are but three notable Constructs you could see in a Dr. Eggman deck many turns too early:</p>

<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Cityscape Leveler" href="#" target="_blank">Cityscape Leveler</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is less scary when cast outright, but it can still spook your opponents enough into reconsidering the merits of discarding that pivotal counterspell or combat trick. Furthermore, its talents aren't completely lost if you don't cast it, for it also triggers on the attack. To that end, you're going to decimate many different permanents with this thing.</p>
<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Scrap Trawler" href="#" target="_blank">Scrap Trawler</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> will also allow a Dr. Eggman player to keep a sizable grip on the deck's artifacts. If you've lost the aforementioned Cityscape Leveler, you might be consoled with the <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Roaming Throne" href="#" target="_blank">Roaming Throne</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> you lost a couple of turns prior. Lost a <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Myr Battlesphere" href="#" target="_blank">Myr Battlesphere</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>? Here's a <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Noxious Gearhulk" href="#" target="_blank">Noxious Gearhulk</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> for your pains. The possibilities are expansive and oh, so diabolical!</p>
<p>Let's also discuss <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Cryptothrall" href="#" target="_blank">Cryptothrall</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. With as simple an ability as giving your artifact creatures hexproof, Cryptothrall is an unassuming threat in a deck with quite a few haymakers. However, when your opponents find they can't <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Abrade" href="#" target="_blank">Abrade</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> your other options, they'll realize they have to focus down a less overt card to get to anything else.</p>
<p>That's pretty evil, in all the best ways!</p>
<h3>Forcing Discards</h3>
<p>Plenty of cards exist in the general realm of Constructs for a commander like Dr. Eggman, and we'll get to them shortly. But how do we encourage opponents to decide to forgo discarding?</p>
<p>Three kinds of cards exist to assist this line of discard discouragement. Two are extremely familiar to most players experienced with discard themes in Commander. There's one more kind of card in this overarching category that is less obvious, although it's on the more salt-inducing end of things.</p>

<p><strong>Damage Upon Discard:</strong> Cards such as <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Megrim" href="#" target="_blank">Megrim</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Liliana&#039;s Caress" href="#" target="_blank">Liliana&#039;s Caress</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and similar all deal damage to an opponent upon discarding. These can add up to more damage than an opponent may feel comfortable taking. At the same time, they're also losing a valuable card in hand, so this eases the stress of a painful decision.</p>
<p><strong>Benefits Upon Discard:</strong> Roughly in the same vein as dealing damage upon discard, cards like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Waste Not" href="#" target="_blank">Waste Not</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> provide you with bonuses for making your opponent discard.</p>
<p>As such, perhaps your opponent doesn't want you to have an extra Zombie token blocker or draw an additional card. So, they'll discard a land (or allow you to cheat in a Construct) instead. Forcing the decision to make itself is a very strong tool in your arsenal.</p>
<p><strong>Informed Hand Control: </strong>This is a more subtle way to force your opponents to discard cards. If your opponents' hands are pretty full, it helps to know why. Therefore, cards like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Telepathy" href="#" target="_blank">Telepathy</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Glasses of Urza" href="#" target="_blank">Glasses of Urza</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> are prime pieces to use here. They allow you to both make informed decisions and strongarm opponents with a political factor.</p>
<p>Of the two, I prefer Glasses of Urza. With it, you can focus the fear upon other opponents by looking at one opponent's hand and monitoring their otherwise hidden hand. You're snooping, as usual, and that's only fair!</p>
<h2>How Does Dr. Eggman Win?</h2>
<p>Put simply, Dr. Eggman wants to run your opponents well out of options while slowly amassing a robotic legion and then overrunning them with said legion.</p>
<p>Notably, there are a few cards that allow you to double up on villainous choices and other abilities. When you have a critical mass of automatons and your opponents have no ready means of dealing with them, you'll be able to win in practically no time at all.</p>

Secret Lair x Sonic: Three New Drops Officially Announced

<p>On Saturday, June 21st, Wizards of the Coast officially announced the dates and locations of their MagicCon events for 2026. What's more, they did it in a YouTube video, which may or may not have had a few <em>Secret</em> easter eggs hidden in it. What are the dates and locations, and what do the easter eggs mean? Let's dive into this!</p>
<h2>MagicCon Dates and Locations</h2>
<p>According to the official event site <a href="https://www.mtgfestivals.com/global/en-us.html">MagicFestivals.com</a>, the dates and locations for MagicCon in 2026 list the following pieces of information:</p>

<p>These event locations aren't anything too terribly new. However, it's worth noting that the conventions will return to these places again, especially for those in the area.</p>
<p>Now, we don't have any promo card information nor any confirmation one way or another. But, the YouTube video promoting these dates may hold a secret or more within it.</p>
<h2>A <em>Secret Lair</em> Teaser?</h2>
<p>As mentioned above, a YouTube video accompanied the location and date information for next year's set of MagicCon events. In that YouTube promo video, we see multiple references to the Elder Dragons of the <em>Legends</em> expansion.</p>

In an earlier still, you can see an ad for "Arcades' Arcade", a reference to the Elder Dragon <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Arcades Sabboth" href="#" target="_blank">Arcades Sabboth</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. These poster-style ads are in various art styles befitting of a <em>Secret Lair</em> drop. Does this mean that players will have copies of these cards in a drop? Will it be Commander-At-Home for 2026? This is entirely plausible, but as we don't have concrete confirmation, you are best off taking this as a rumor for now.</p>

Secret Lair X Nuestra Magia Drop Launches Monday, June 16th

<p>Get ready to queue up! <em>Secret Lair</em> is having its 2025 Summer Superdrop event starting today, June 9th, at 9 AM Pacific (Noon Eastern). The Superdrop event has six potential drops for you to try and nab. What are those drops, and how concerned should you be about getting them before they sell out completely? Read on, and we'll elaborate!</p>
<h2>Six Drops, One Summer (2025) <em>Secret Lair</em> Superdrop</h2>
<p>The Summer 2025 Superdrop is a big deal because in it, we are getting three <em>Final Fantasy</em>-themed drops. We covered these previously, and <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/secret-lair-x-final-fantasy-three-new-drops-revealed">you can find that coverage here</a>. Naturally, due to the intense hype surrounding the upcoming release of the <em>Final Fantasy</em> <em>Magic</em> set this Friday and the Prerelease events that happened this past weekend, demand for these will be astronomical. Expect queues to be long for those three drops specifically.</p>
<p>We <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/secret-lair-summer-superdrop-2025-officially-announced">covered the other three drops</a> as well. The other three <em>Secret Lair</em> drops will be a bit less trendy, but still are heavy hitters in their own right. For one, <strong>Phil Foglio</strong>'s art is iconic among <em>Magic</em> players, new and old. This drop will probably sell out as well, if not for the artist's name, then because it's the first foil iteration of <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Constant Mists" href="#" target="_blank">Constant Mists</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. <strong>Frank Frazetta</strong>'s second drop collection will similarly sell out because Frazetta's name is essentially revered in the fantasy and pulp-art communities across the globe. And while <strong>Imiri Sakabashima</strong>'s name isn't necessarily as well-known in the United States, his drop is weird and wild enough to sell out in due time as well.</p>
<p>The order in which these drops may sell out is up for debate, but it's almost certain to some that the foil <em>Final Fantasy</em> drops will sell out first. Time will tell, though, and we may be in for a surprise!</p>

Secret Lair Summer Superdrop 2025 Launches Today

<p>Wizards of the Coast is partnering with the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC), and that partnership is coming in the form of a brand-new Secret Lair called <em>Nuestra Magia</em>.</p>
<p>The cards featured in the release were created with the input of multiple Latinx artists. Even the langauge usage on the cards themselves was selected in line with the partnership; alternate names in Spanish and Portuguese were used on select cards, such as "<em>La abundancia de Yúcahu</em>," or, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Sylvan Library" href="#" target="_blank">Sylvan Library</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>.</p>
<p>Two different versions of this drop are available for purchase. One is printed with Spanish and Portuguese rules text, while the other is printed with English rules text. Both versions of the drop will be available in non-foil and rainbow foil. <em>Nuestra Magia </em>is set for release on June 16 at 9 a.m. PST and will be available through July 13.</p>

<p>According to Wizards of the Coast, all of the Secret Lair division's philanthropic drops are concepted, designed, and led by the individuals who identify with the communities these drops support.</p>
<p><em>Nuestra Magia </em>as a project was led by long-time Wizards of the Coast Art Director <a href="https://scryfall.com/search?q=a%3Aovidio">Ovidio Cartagena</a>, who for this drop served as Creative Lead.</p>
<p>"Putting together the ideas for this set was a very exciting challenge," recalled Cartagena. "Anyone who has traveled across Latinoamérica has seen there is a wide range of cultures, accents, and languages that populate several types of landscapes. And so, in choosing the themes for this release, we went for a combination of specific cultural references (Yucahú, O Anhangá) and general themes that can be seen in many cultures (Food token)."</p>
<p>Cartagena said the talent people have brought to the set has been "incredible," featuring a healthy mix of artistic styles directed by Anthony Garzzona. "(It) gives audiences a taste of how varied and rich a road trip through the Américas could be. As I went over the art and concepts presented here, I was reminded of my own cultural heritage, and also that of the people I've met from all over the continent, their stories, and their customs," said Cartagena. "These cards will get fans inspired and excited to learn about Latinoamérica's cultures and people. To my Latinx friends: I hope that, like me, you see a part of yourselves in these cards; they were made thinking of the struggle that unites us and the beauty that makes us so diverse."</p>

Upcoming Secret Lair to Raise Money for Latino Org

<p>Summer is coming, and with it, a new <em>Secret Lair</em> superdrop! <em>Summer Superdrop 2025</em> is launching on June 9th at 9 AM Pacific Time (or Noon Eastern Time). Let's go over the different drops that this superdrop contains!</p>
<h2><em>Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy</em></h2>
<p>We've already covered these <em>Secret Lair</em> drops in another article, but to recap, these three drops will cost $29.99 for nonfoil and $39.99 in foil. There are three <em>Final Fantasy</em>-themed drops in total: One themed after some of the series' villains, one themed after the heroes' magic, and one themed after famous weapons from the series.</p>

<h2><em>Artist Series: Phil Foglio</em></h2>
<p>Classic <em>Magic</em> artist <a href="https://www.studiofoglio.com/"><strong>Phil Foglio</strong></a> is a perennial favorite for many players. His oftentimes zany, painterly work draws players to the game and hearkens back to the olden days of the game. And now, he's been commissioned to create a <em>Secret Lair</em>! This drop features multiple red and green cards. The most mechanically notable of these may be a timely reprint of <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Constant Mists" href="#" target="_blank">Constant Mists</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. However, his <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Orcish Lumberjack" href="#" target="_blank">Orcish Lumberjack</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is also just so aesthetically Foglio.
