It's almost time for MagicCon: Las Vegas 2026, and many Magic players are gearing up to attend! But even if you're not going, Wizards of the Coast had a special item available on the Secret Lair store to emulate some of the swag you could pick up otherwise. It's time to discuss the Festival in a Box!

Festival in a Box Contents

As usual, the Festival in a Box contains the following items, described in broad strokes:

  • One booster box of Mystery Booster 2
  • Three promotional cards, including one playtest card
  • An exclusive Secret Lair drop

Let's get into what these products really entail.

Mystery Booster 2 Box

This is the main draw for most players hoping to acquire the Festival in a Box product. The item contains 24 booster packs of Mystery Booster 2. What's in the packs? Well, these packs pull from a select pool of 200 different releases, and the selection is so varied that we couldn't possibly get into that in much depth. However, each pack has one white-bordered card, one playtest card, and one card with the Future Sight frame (that has a very low chance of being in traditional foil).

For more information on this item, you can check out Wizards of the Coast's article detailing the contents here.

Promotional Cards for Festival in a Box

But wait, there's more!

Festival in a Box typically has a few promos in it in addition to the other items listed, and this time is no exception. The promos are:

  • Consecrated SphinxConsecrated Sphinx, in a foil retro frame with art from Mirrodin Besieged
  • CounterspellCounterspell, in a foil retro frame with art from Tempest
  • In Residence, a playtest card

Secret Lair: Viva las Rakdos

The last item within the Festival in a Box is Secret Lair: Viva las Rakdos. This collection of five cards has a red-black lean and wondrous carnival aesthetics. The five cards in this drop are as follows and are only available in this product:

Update

While writing this piece up, Festival in a Box 2026 unfortunately sold out on the Secret Lair website. Such is the way of Secret Lair products like this, I suppose. However, you can still pick a copy up if you're going to MagicCon: Las Vegas.

But for now, let's open the floor to you, dear readers. Did you get your hands on this Festival in a Box drop? Are you going to go to MagicCon: Las Vegas? If so, are you going to try to get ahold of the drop in person? Sound off in the comments below!
