It's Tuesday, July 15th, and another day of Edge of Eternities spoilers has come and gone! We've been recapping some of the best previews from the EOE preview season with each day of reveals. As such, today is no exception. Let's get right into it!
Today, we got another handful of preview cards from the main set. But maybe even more prolific is the massive number of land cards we saw from the Stellar Sights bonus sheet! If you thought yesterday's haul was big, just you wait; some of these lands are truly impactful reprints.

In all, there were as many as sixteen or so cards revealed within Edge of Eternities' Stellar Sights bonus sheet today. Best Edge of Eternities Spoilers From Monday, July 14th

Hold onto your chili dogs, because it's about time to queue up! The Sonic the Hedgehog drops for Secret Lair are almost live. But collectors beware; you gotta queue fast if you want to snag them in time!
To reiterate our <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/secret-lair-x-sonic-three-new-drops-officially-announced" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previous coverage of these drops</a>, each one (except Friends &amp; Foes, which is $10 more across the board) has a retail price point of $29.99 for non-foil and $39.99 for foil. The three drops are also going to be headed to your local game stores in August (presuming they're in good standing with the Wizards Play Network and have some allocated). For those daring enough to brave the queues of the Secret Lair webstore, you can find them at 9 AM Pacific Time. That's Noon for the East Coast of the US!

Notably, the Secret Lair x Sonic: Friends &amp; Foes drop only has mechanically unique cards in it and will most likely run out of stock first. After that, the Turbo Gear drop will probably sell out, followed by the Chasing Adventure drop. Foil printings will more than likely outsell nonfoil for each respective drop.

For all it's worth, there's not a ton to say beyond how utterly cool this particular Magic: The Gathering expansion is. As it stands, we're super-excited to see how it impacts formats like Modern, Standard, Pauper, and, of course, Commander. For instance, are you the kind of player who would build an <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Urza, Lord High Artificer" href="#" target="_blank">Urza, Lord High Artificer</a> deck? Perhaps you'd like Mm'menon, the Right Hand. Or, if you like stealing commanders, maybe you're more a fan of putting Zero Point Ballad into the 99 of a black deck. The possibilities are near-endless, I'm sure.

Dark Horse Comics' collaboration with Wizards of the Coast to create a new Magic: The Gathering comic book series is just beginning. We don't even have the first issue just yet (as it is due out on September 10th). However, the details for issue #2 are beginning to trickle outward to the public. Here's what we know about Untold Stories: Elspeth #2 so far!

<h2>Klothys and Calix Make an Appearance</h2>
This story follows Elspeth's efforts to escape the Theroan underworld. It also appears to follow <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Klothys, God of Destiny" href="#" target="_blank">Klothys, God of Destiny</a> and her champion, the demigod and Planeswalker known as <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Calix, Destiny&#039;s Hand" href="#" target="_blank">Calix</a>. Klothys is upset that Elspeth is attempting to defy her fate to perish in that despondent realm. So, largely unable to fully leave Nyx (the Magic: The Gathering Olympus analogue), she sends Calix to pursue Elspeth.
As we don't know the exact plot for issue #1, the two may make their introduction there. However, it's also entirely possible that issue #2 will be Klothys and Calix's debut.

<h2>Erebos Presides Over the Storyline</h2>
As this all unfolds, one figure stands present, orchestrating much of what happens here: <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Erebos, God of the Dead" href="#" target="_blank">Erebos, God of the Dead</a>. Erebos is a covetous tyrant of a God, and also presides over ill fate and misfortune. As such, he would naturally have a role in this story. You can see in the variant cover art for Untold Stories: Elspeth #2 (stunningly illustrated by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/magali_villeneuve/?hl=en">Magali Villeneuve</a>) that Erebos is very present in the background. In visual language, this often will signify that the character is pulling some of the strings and will play an important role in later acts of the story. Does that mean Erebos has a larger role than many Vorthos may have been led to believe? Perhaps, but we will see. After all, this is Dark Horse Comics' version of the story as a whole.

Over the past few play seasons, Magic: The Gathering has offered players some really cool promotional cards. With the Edge of Eternities play season just past the horizon, Wizards of the Coast has continued this trend! On Wednesday, July 9th, Wizards revealed the play season promos for this new set. Let's take a look!
<h2>Edge of Eternities Commander Box League</h2>
First off, Wizards is pushing their Commander Box League concept towards players. The promo for participating in this league event is a retro-frame, traditional foil copy of <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Palladium Myr" href="#" target="_blank">Palladium Myr</a> (image credit: Wizards of the Coast).

Players who buy an introductory Magic product between August 1st and September 18th will receive a promotional card for their foray into the game (while supplies last). According to Wizards, "Intro products include Starter Kits, the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box or Starter Collection, and six or more Play Boosters from a set. That last one includes Bundles and Play Booster boxes." Furthermore, new players can also receive a sticker sheet themed after Edge of Eternities to give their deck boxes some added style points.
<h2>Standard Showdown</h2>
For the Standard Showdown event, players will receive a retro-frame, traditional foil copy of <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Monstrous Rage" href="#" target="_blank">Monstrous Rage</a>. Recently, <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/ban-list-update-for-june-30th-2025-shakes-up-standard">Monstrous Rage caught the banhammer</a> in Standard. However, Wizards of the Coast has addressed the untimely nature of this promo by mentioning that it's still a usable card in Pioneer.

Welcome to the first day of our Edge of Eternities preview recaps for the spoiler season! Today, despite having scarcely four or five sources of previews, there's already a lot to showcase! These cards will all be added to the official Card Image Gallery tomorrow. Before this, though, we would like to show you these cards as a collection for the day. So, let's not waste much more time and get right to it!
<h2>Edge of Eternities Mechanics Article</h2>
First off, we have the two previews that Wizards of the Coast showcased in <a href="https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/edge-of-eternities-mechanics">their mechanics article</a> for the new set. There's not a ton of new ground to cover with these cards, as they're simple uncommon cards, but they'll fit right in within this recap:

As with every set in recent history, Mark Rosewater, Head Designer for Magic: The Gathering, writes up a multi-part article about the design process for the newest set. Generally, these come with a specific preview card. Tuesday, July 8th marked <a href="https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/making-magic/giving-the-players-an-edge-part-1">the first part of Rosewater's Edge of Eternities design series</a>. Let's look at it!

Best Edge of Eternities Spoilers From Tuesday, July 8th

Edge of Eternities: Preview Season Debut Stream Spoilers

Magic Head Designer Mark Rosewater is no stranger to public relations. He's teased multiple sets for players ahead of the debut of their preview seasons in years past. This is normally done through <a href="https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/">his Tumblr account</a>, known as "Blogatog". On this social media account, Rosewater often answers important Magic design questions from curious players. On Tuesday, July 1st, Rosewater gave players <a href="https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/787882322917801984/maros-edge-of-eternities-teaser">a teaser for what to expect</a> in the next Magic set, Edge of Eternities.
<h2>Mark Rosewater’s Edge of Eternities Teaser</h2>
To directly quote Rosewater's post, here are a few notable abilities you can expect from the new set:
<blockquote>• repeatable activated ability that lets you draw two cards and create a 2/2 creature token
• white card that can return noncreature, nonland cards from the graveyard to the battlefield
• another “Arch” charm
• card that makes you choose odd or even
• new artifact token called Munitions
• variant on devour
• card that lets you take control of an opponent
• legendary five-color artifact
• poison card
• card that grants an ability to Slivers</blockquote>
After these, Rosewater showcased some rules text, albeit many likely only in part:
<blockquote>• “Whenever you play a land or cast a spell, draw a card.”

<h2>Thoughts on the Teaser</h2>
Overall, we're excited to see all the new cards! Players seem especially interested in what a Munitions token will do.
We are also quite intrigued about the (probably) attack trigger that puts a creature from the defending player's graveyard onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Are there strings attached to that trigger?
Furthermore, it is very cool that we will be seeing a return of the Eldrazi in the set. However, we are fairly aware of the number crunch for colors in the set. Because colorless nonartifact cards come first in the set number order, we can anticipate only one Eldrazi, if not a very small handful more.
In addition, we also seriously cannot wait to see the Lobster Citizen legendary creature, and what it is capable of. Is it just a "silly little guy"? Could it be a menace in Constructed? We'll just have to wait and find out!
Finally, what in the world(s) could Nebula Dragon do? That name is amazing!
