For a span of time in early June this year, Wizards of the Coast is holding Magic Presents: Pride 2026! These annual events are a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, and are a ton of fun to compete in. What does this event entail, and what promotions are Wizards offering this year? Read on, and we'll get right into it!
Magic Presents: Pride 2026 Recap
According to the article on DailyMTG, this year's Magic Presents for June will be similar in format to previous years. Players will free-play Commander, but with any two legal commanders treated as though they have the partner keyword. Last year, I got a chance to play in one of these events and had a blast with two different, pretty relevant decks. You can read my recap of these games here.
However, there is a bit of a difference in promotional giveaways this time around. While last year offered a promotional copy of Chromatic LanternChromatic Lantern and a print of Chandra NalaarChandra Nalaar waving a Pride flag, this year's swag will include a promo copy of Gilded LotusGilded Lotus (with Merlin G.G.'s art, seen in the featured image above) and a pin featuring the Lotus in question from said artwork (both while supplies last). As cool as the prints were, this seems like a massive upgrade from an easily-foldable piece of paper, if I do say so myself!
Conclusion
I will most definitely make an effort to attend at least one of these super-fun events at my local game store. It's also my hope that you will, too!
But let's open the floor to you now, dear readers. Have you attended a Magic Presents: Pride event before? What commanders did you pair up for the event(s)? And what are you planning to play this year if you're planning to go? Sound off in the comments below!
