Countdown Kits are an uncommon occurrence in the Secret Lair webstore, so this one is sure to be special. Did you miss the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit, or were you lucky enough to snag it? Either way, read on, because this article will provide the skinny on the upcoming drop.
Fun Cards, and an Enriching Secret Lair
Given the nature of this new drop, it's safe to say that "An Encyclopedia of Magic," as it's called, will be an enlightening trip into Magic's history. Having 26 cards, each with a name starting with a unique letter of the alphabet, this Secret Lair drop should feasibly be similar to the 30 cards from the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit. In the interest of our readers, we have to provide full disclosure that we don't yet know the contents of this drop. Just like with any other news, we'll provide updates as we get them. Kindly give us your patience; since the new drop comes out in less than two weeks, we're sure there will be even more info soon. Like, for instance, this tidbit: Maybe, if you're lucky, your drop will contain a Halo Foil treatment on one (or perhaps more) of the cards. No telling which one, but that's the beauty of the Countdown Kits.
One or Two Previews Have Already Surfaced
Previews for this product are starting to trickle in, though sparsely, in any official capacity anyway. Questionably, there are a few official spoilers for the Encyclopedia, like Demonic ConsultationDemonic Consultation, Llanowar ElvesLlanowar Elves, and WastelandWasteland. Rather than show you the previews, however, it's probably fine to tell you what we know for now. Safe in the knowledge that these spoilers are legitimate and from an official source, these three cards are all we know at this time. These cards are pretty great, though! Understand, however, that because this drop is in extremely limited quantities online, it's best to prepare early to grab them. Very early, in fact. Which, to be frank, the $199.99 price tag on the Secret Lair doesn't really lend itself well to.
