Magic’s newest set, Edge of Eternities, sees the game turn to the stars for its first expansion explicitly focused on the “final frontier.”. This sci-fi-focused set delivers a bevy of notable new cards boasting intriguing new keywords, including in its Commander bonus sheet.
The bread-and-butter of Magic are lands, as nothing would be possible in the game without these colorless permanents that produce (mostly) colored mana. One permanent type that usually doesn’t require colored pips is artifacts. So, let’s pair those together in one article and discover the top lands and artifacts from Edge of Eternities.
12. Dawnsire, Sunstar DreadnoughtDawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought

Edge of Eternities is definitely not messing around when it comes to power level. Throughout the set you'll find a number of extremely splashy and flashy permanents that are sure to make your eyes bulge out of your head – such as this five-mana Spacecraft that does nothing.
I say “nothing” since you have to station this creature to 10+ charge counters before it does anything. When you hit that threshold, however, it deals 100 damage (that’s right, triple digits) to any creature or planeswalker whenever you attack.
Hit 20 or more charge counters and Dawnsire is a Marit LageMarit Lage without indestructible: a 20/20 flyer. A spicy Spacecraft to begin the list.
11. Patrolling PeacemakerPatrolling Peacemaker
Patrolling Peacemaker
The crime mechanic was introduced in Outlaws of Thunder Junction and was heavily represented therein. Since then, we haven’t seen the mechanic that often… until now, that is.
This Robot Soldier artifact creature punishes your foes whenever they commit a crime (that’s not just against you, by the way, but truly “whenever”) by allowing you to proliferate.
Seeing as Edge of Eternities is set up to feature cards that are chock-full of charge counters, +1/+1 counters, and others (poison anyone?), this is sure to be a stellar addition to any counter-based Commander deck.
10. Requiem MonolithRequiem Monolith
Phyrexian ArenaPhyrexian Arena is one of the most iconic black card draw spells of all time (as well as one of the most valuable cards from Apocalypse). Edge of Eternities delivers this fun twist on that memorable enchantment as a four-mana artifact with a clever activated ability.
Instead of simply triggering for one card and one life on each of your upkeeps, this artifact can actually draw you a card for each point of damage target creature receives – and that’s not limited to your own creatures.

9. Uthros, Titanic GodcoreUthros, Titanic Godcore
Uthros, Titanic Godcore
Tolarian AcademyTolarian Academy from Urza’s Saga is regarded as one of the broken cards ever printed, as it led to blisteringly fast starts in various constructed formats after it was released due to the presence of mana-accelerating artifacts and zero-cost artifacts running rampant.
This powered-down version of the Academy (which happens to be one of the most valuable cards from Urza's Saga) is a tapped blue source upon entering the battlefield, but if it can reach a lofty 12 charge counters, it becomes a Tolarian Academy.
8. Exploration BroodshipExploration Broodship
Exploration Broodship
ExplorationExploration, originally from Urza’s Saga, is a banger card. An enchantment for that allows you to play an additional land each turn was always bound to be a staple of multiple formats and decks.
As we’ve seen, Edge of Eternities is not afraid of repurposing classic cards from Magic’s past under the guise of new mechanics, and that’s exactly what Exploration Broodship represents: a one-mana Spacecraft with station that turns into Exploration when it hits three charge counters.
Ratchet that up to eight, and you’re looking at a 4/4 flyer that can play permanents from your graveyard by sacrificing a land in addition to paying the card’s mana cost. Not bad for one mana.
7. Surge ConductorSurge Conductor

If you’re playing Commander, it’s pretty likely that you’re employing a number of notable artifacts. Why not get rewarded for their usage via the beloved proliferate mechanic? That’s exactly what this Edge of Eternities Commander bonus sheet card does.
Now, the words “nontoken” lower the value and importance of this 3/2 Robot, as it won’t nab you a proliferate trigger when a Treasure, Food, Clue, Blood, or any other named (or unnamed) artifact token enters the battlefield. Toss in some artifact recursion for tons of counters being produced, or, if you have an extra lying around, try this infinite turns combo on for size:
6. Evendo, Waking HavenEvendo, Waking Haven
Evendo, Waking Haven
Gaea's CradleGaea's Cradle, you might have heard, is pretty dang good. As one of the rarest nonbasic lands of all time, as well as the most valuable card from Urza’s Saga, this land that adds to your mana pool for each creature you control has become part of Magic lore and is spoken about in hushed tones among Magic oldheads and newcomers alike.
Edge of Eternities opts to riff on this iconic land with Evendo, Waking Haven, a mythic rare that requires it to be at 12 or more charge counters via station in order to achieve Gaea’s Cradle’s baseline ability.
Still though, this land works a little more intuitively than Uthros, Titanic GodcoreUthros, Titanic Godcore.
5. Pinnacle StarcagePinnacle Starcage
Just when you thought it was safe to play tokens... With Dominaria United rotating out upon the release of Edge of Eternities, the scourge of Temporary LockdownTemporary Lockdown in Standard will be over… until this similarly costed artifact enters the scene.
While it doesn’t hit enchantments, meaning Sheltered by GhostsSheltered by Ghosts remains a potent removal spell, Pinnacle Starcage does give its caster a high-end payoff for a whopping by tossing everything exiled with it into the graveyard and then spewing out 2/2 Robot tokens for each artifact that goes “bye-bye.”
A cool card with beautiful artwork by Leon Tukker.

Slivers are among the most enjoyable creature types in Magic history. First debuting way back in 1997’s Tempest expansion, Slivers represent the best of Magic design. These strange alien creatures have found their way (like Xenomorphs) into multiple different dimensions and settings.
Including in Edge of Eternities! This six-mana artifact slides perfectly into any Sliver Commander deck, and it can often be cast for or even depending on the number of Slivs you have around.
Tacking on double strike and haste is also a massive boon for your slithering baddies.
3. The Dominion BraceletThe Dominion Bracelet
The Dominion Bracelet
You have to say this for Edge of Eternities, Wizards of the Coast did not go “small” on many of these top-of-the-curve threats. MindslaverMindslaver and Emrakul, the Promised EndEmrakul, the Promised End are two of the most oppressive and annoying cards to play against, and The Dominion Bracelet has the potential to join that hall of fame/shame of cards that allow you to control your opponent’s next turn.
Of course, is an absurdly high price to pay for an activated ability, but controlling your opponent during their turn is quite the payoff.
Of course, the idea is to pop this on your biggest, beefiest threat and discount that by a lot. On a Krosan CloudscraperKrosan Cloudscraper, you can activate The Dominion Bracelet for a paltry !
2. Depthshaker TitanDepthshaker Titan
Depthshaker Titan
Following in the footsteps of the O.G. mass-pumping, mana-intensive OverrunOverrun on a stick (Craterhoof BehemothCraterhoof Behemoth) as well as white’s version, Wilds of Eldraine’s Moonshaker CavalryMoonshaker Cavalry, Depthshaker Titan turns all of your noncreature artifacts (if you choose) into 3/3 artifact creatures that gain haste, trample, and melee.
For Commander players, that melee keyword is the important one, as your newly anthropomorphized artifacts will always get +1/+1 when they attack, but if you have a wide enough board, you can easily spread out your damage and boost all of those 3/3s by +3/+3. Sweet.
1. The EndstoneThe Endstone
The Endstone
As a Timmy player, The Endstone brings me an immense amount of joy. One of the most important artifacts in the Edge of Eternities storyline, this legendary artifact for also delivers the goods in terms of gameplay impact as well.
Drawing a card whenever you play a land or cast any spell is a major boon, especially if you can get this beauty down a few turns early.
The second triggered ability is no slouch, either. Resetting your life total to 10 every turn in two-player formats and all the way to 20 in Commander is a fairly sizable boon. And it also counts as lifegain, so it nabs all of those synergies as well.
Valuable, powerful, and important lore-wise, it’s no surprise that The Endstone tops this list, despite its prohibitive mana value.
Living on the Edge
Edge of Eternities is shaping up to be a classic “in-universe” Magic set, though, as is the case with most sets, it could surely do with more Slivers. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the new expansion!
