Welcome back to Wombo Combo, the series where we examine EDH's best combo cards using data from EDHREC and Commander Spellbook. This edition, we'll take a flight to the edges of the multiverse to examine the best new combo cards from the Edge of Eternities set!

Infinite Guideline Station
Sothera, the Supervoid
Evendo, Waking Haven

Edge of Eternities is a space-themed set focused around the edges of the multiverse, nearing the Blind Eternities.

The set introduces two new prominent subtypes - Planets and Spacecraft, both of which can be stationed by tapping creatures. Once they're stationed, they gain additional abilities, and some Spacecraft can become creatures.

Edge of Eternities also introduces many new characters and cards with unique effects that lend themselves to infinite combos. So let's get out our finest telescope and gaze at the beauty of these new cards!

#10: Loading Zone

Loading Zone

Number of Combos: 32

Loading ZoneLoading Zone easily loads your creatures, Spacecraft, and Planets with double the counters. This acts largely as redundancy for Winding ConstrictorWinding Constrictor in many combos, including cards like Walking BallistaWalking Ballista and Crystalline CrawlerCrystalline Crawler.

With Loading Zone synergizing with station abilities, it can serve as a method to easily set up Spacecraft combos with Dawnsire, Sunstar DreadnoughtDawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought or The Eternity ElevatorThe Eternity Elevator.

Body of Research

You could also just beef up the Fractal made by Body of ResearchBody of Research too, if that's more your speed.

#9: Solar Array

Solar Array

Number of Combos: 41

Solar ArraySolar Array is an interesting card that gives the next artifact spell you cast sunburst, allowing that artifact to enter with a +1/+1 or charge counter on it for each color of mana spent to cast it. Sunburst is generally a bonus for running artifacts in colored decks, especially decks like Breya, Etherium ShaperBreya, Etherium Shaper where you'll likely have multiple colors of mana available.

Solar Array also gives you one mana, which, with some specific cards, is enough to untap Solar Array and get infinite delayed sunburst triggers. One example is pairing Filigree SagesFiligree Sages with Zirda, the DawnwakerZirda, the Dawnwaker, reducing Filigree Sages' cost to and allowing you to stack infinite sunburst.

The sunburst can also be used to immediately put three charge counters on Magistrate's ScepterMagistrate's Scepter for a simple infinite turns combo in a Drafna, Founder of Lat-NamDrafna, Founder of Lat-Nam deck.

#8: Kilo, Apogee Mind

Kilo, Apogee Mind

Number of Combos: 55

Kilo, Apogee MindKilo, Apogee Mind proliferates every time it's tapped, making it a great piece for Spacecraft and Planets to station them quicker. Of course, there are plenty of other cards that infinite proliferating works beautifully for, like TriskelionTriskelion or Basking BroodscaleBasking Broodscale.

Kilo combos can function similar to Solar Array combos, where you have Kilo tap for (via Paradise MantleParadise Mantle or a similar card) and then untap it to get infinite proliferating thanks to Pemmin's AuraPemmin's Aura. You can use the proliferating for payoffs; Triskelion will give you infinite damage, and Basking Broodscale gives you infinite Eldrazi Spawns and colorless mana.

Magosi, the Waterveil

Kilo can also proliferate hard to acquire counters, such as Magosi, the WaterveilMagosi, the Waterveil's eon counter.

#7: Mm'menon, the Right Hand

Mm'menon, the Right Hand

Number of Combos: 57

Mm'menon, the Right HandMm'menon, the Right Hand serves as a top-deck effect for artifact cards and allows artifacts to tap for mana to cast spells from anywhere but your hand.

It shouldn't be a surprise that Mm'menon is a key combo piece for Sensei's Divining TopSensei's Divining Top combos alongside a cost reducer like Cloud KeyCloud Key. However, Mm'menon can serve as a cost reducer if you have a way to create an artifact whenever you cast Sensei's Divining Top. This opens an opportunity for another Edge of Eternities card in Weapons ManufacturingWeapons Manufacturing, whose Munitions tokens can be tapped to funnel the mana into Sensei's Divining Top.

If you add an appropriate sacrifice outlet, you can also get a large amount of damage to boot.

#6: Sami, Wildcat Captain

Sami, Wildcat Captain

Number of Combos: 59

Sami, Wildcat CaptainSami, Wildcat Captain joins the fleet as an excellent cost reducer for artifact-heavy decks by giving each spell you cast affinity for artifacts, making it a more useful Mycosynth GolemMycosynth Golem.

Mycosynth Golem
Ancestral Statue
Blightsteel Colossus

Sami can be used to reduce the cost of many cards to enable combos, like Sensei's Divining TopSensei's Divining Top, Ancestral StatueAncestral Statue and mana rocks such as Chromatic OrreryChromatic Orrery. Sami can also cheat out your large artifacts with ease, leading to a cheap Blightsteel ColossusBlightsteel Colossus for a possible two-card way to kill an opponent.

#5: Haliya, Guided by Light

Haliya, Guided by Light

Number of Combos: 70

Haliya, Guided by LightHaliya, Guided by Light will have you saying "Hey, soul sister!" as it gains you life as artifacts and creatures enter. Soul sister effects work great to cover life payments from Warren SoultraderWarren Soultrader, Carnival of SoulsCarnival of Souls, and similar cards.

Haliya fits perfectly into a Darien, King of KjeldorDarien, King of Kjeldor deck to counteract the damage dealt to you, and a Heliod, Sun-CrownedHeliod, Sun-Crowned deck to easily place +1/+1 counters.

This is especially useful with Animation ModuleAnimation Module and Scurry OakScurry Oak to trigger Haliya again, creating a possible infinite combo.

#4: Mm'menon, Uthros Exile

Mm'menon, Uthros Exile

Number of Combos: 81

Mm'menon, Uthros ExileMm'menon, Uthros Exile brings us into double trouble with the other Mm'menon we discussed earlier, but has a different effect. Mm'menon, Uthros Exile puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control whenever an artifact enters. This serves as a perfect vessel for artifact persist creatures, like Lesser MasticoreLesser Masticore and Wingrattle ScarecrowWingrattle Scarecrow.

It also serves as a great trigger point for Animation ModuleAnimation Module to repeatedly create Servo artifact creature tokens. Mm'menon also creates an infinite combo with Lonis, Genetics ExpertLonis, Genetics Expert for infinite Clue tokens and +1/+1 counters on Lonis.

#3: Umbral Collar Zealot

Umbral Collar Zealot

Number of Combos: 178

Edge of Eternities brings us a new sacrifice outlet in Umbral Collar ZealotUmbral Collar Zealot for both creature and artifact combos. Umbral Collar Zealot's effect causes you to surveil 1, making it similar to staples like Viscera SeerViscera Seer.

These sacrifice outlets are used in the majority of combos revolving around artifacts and creatures. Umbral Collar Zealot is especially suited for recursion decks who want to put creatures in their graveyard, both by sacrificing creatures and from the library. It's also a good fit for Syr Konrad, the GrimSyr Konrad, the Grim and similar decks to get more triggers, or as a way to empty your library for Out of the TombsOut of the Tombs or other cards.

With sacrifice outlets like Umbral Collar Zealot, you can accidentally stumble across combos with ease, making them an essential consideration for infinite combos.

#2: Szarel, Genesis Shepherd

Szarel, Genesis Shepherd

Number of Combos: 223

Szarel, Genesis ShepherdSzarel, Genesis Shepherd is a double combo threat. First, it allows you to play lands from your graveyard, enabling combos with Hearthhull, the WorldseedHearthhull, the Worldseed and Mystic SanctuaryMystic Sanctuary.

The second ability is extremely useful by putting +1/+1 counters on a creature whenever you sacrifice a nontoken permanent. These counters can be used in a variety of ways, from counteracting persist, to making mana with Crystalline CrawlerCrystalline Crawler, to tokens with Scurry OakScurry Oak.

Since the number of counters is determined by Szarel's power, it's easy to throw a Colossus HammerColossus Hammer on it to get large amounts of counters very quickly.

#1: Exalted Sunborn

Exalted Sunborn

Number of Combos: 296

Token doublers are notoriously perfect for combos, but Exalted SunbornExalted Sunborn takes this a step further. Unlike other token doublers, Exalted Sunborn is a nonlegendary creature. This means you can copy Exalted Sunborn and the tokens don't die to the legend rule, unlike Mondrak, Glory DominusMondrak, Glory Dominus or Adrix and Nev, TwincastersAdrix and Nev, Twincasters.

This leads to a rather hilarious near-infinite combo with Moonlit MeditationMoonlit Meditation and Storm HerdStorm Herd, leading to an absurd amount of tokens. A similar result can be achieved with Devastating OnslaughtDevastating Onslaught, also from Edge of Eternities.

Exalted Sunborn can, of course, be used just like any token doubler alongside Spawnsire of UlamogSpawnsire of Ulamog, Transmutation FontTransmutation Font, and similar cards. You can even warp it onto the battlefield to save mana when executing a combo.

Honorable Mentions

If you're still looking into the great beyond, here's some other cards to consider:

1. Dawnsire, Sunstar DreadnoughtDawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought: A Spaceship that can deal 100 damage to a creature, which is easily exploited with Phyrexian VindicatorPhyrexian Vindicator or similar cards.

2. Weftstalker ArdentWeftstalker Ardent: A perfect variant to Reckless FireweaverReckless Fireweaver and a combo piece for Malcolm, Keen-Eyed NavigatorMalcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator.

3. Susurian VoidbornSusurian VoidbornServes as redundancy for Blood ArtistBlood Artist in combos.

4. Starfield VocalistStarfield VocalistRedundancy for Yarok, the DesecratedYarok, the Desecrated, with the added ability to warp it in and cast it fully later.
