With the San Diego Comic-Con just over the horizon, we at EDHREC would like to remind you of the journey so far. In 2025, we've raced all sorts of Vehicles and Mounts for Aetherdrift. We've experienced sixteen or so plotlines from Final Fantasy. We're literally at the edge of Edge of Eternities. And now, we're surfing and slinging the World Wide Web for Marvel's Spider-Man.
Over the past couple of days, Wizards of the Coast has revealed a fair few cards from the new Universes Beyond set, Marvel's Spider-Man. Specifically, they revealed the contents of the Welcome Decks that players will play with during SDCC. Furthermore, they revealed a couple of cards found in the main set from outside of those decks. So, now, we would like to show you those cards! Are you ready? Let's swing into it!
Marvel's Spider-Man Exclusive Main Set Cards
First off, let's look at the cards specifically from the main set. There are plenty of cards from the main set within the Welcome Decks, but we will show those in a minute. For now, let's focus on some booster pack exclusives:
These cards will appear randomly in booster packs of the new set. Now, let's look at the contents of the Welcome Decks!
Welcome Deck Cards From the Main Set
The Welcome Decks for Marvel's Spider-Man contain a blend of cards from the main set and a few cards exclusive to these decks. We will get to what those exclusives are in a moment, but for now, these are the main set's cards that appear in the Welcome Decks of their respective colors and color identities!
Notably, besides web-slinging, the Welcome Decks also reveal a new mechanic for the set: mayhem. It acts similarly to madness, but the cards discarded can be cast any time during the turn they're discarded, following timing restrictions.
Welcome Deck Exclusives
Finally, let's talk about the Spider-Man Eternal cards in the Welcome Decks. These cards appear to be exclusive to said decks, and are respective to each deck's color. There appear to be four in each deck, for a total of 20 exclusive cards. Let's take a look!
And now, let's hear from you, dear readers! Are you excited for Marvel's Spider-Man? Do these Welcome Decks and their contents stir your deckbuilding minds to make something cool and new? Are you hopeful for the set's impact on Constructed formats? Sound off in the comments below!
