The preview season for the newest upcoming Magic set, Marvel's Spider-Man, is now underway! At PAX West and via livestream, fans of the game got a look at some of the set's newest previews. Of course, we had to get in on that action with a recap of our own. So, without much more ado, let's look at some of the new cards from the upcoming Universes Beyond set!

This Main Set is a Menace!

...Is probably what J. Jonah JamesonJ. Jonah Jameson would say if he saw it (and if he actually existed). So, let's take it easy first, with some of the cards revealed from the main set:

Notably, Eddie Brock (aka Venom, Lethal Protector) is a very interesting black-red-green commander option. The double-sided card feels a lot like Vaevictis Asmadi, the DireVaevictis Asmadi, the Dire in many respects. I happen to also personally adore the City Pigeon, but that's just me. Gotta love good-old New York City street food!

Booster Fun Treatments

In addition to the main set, the debut panel also showcased a few Booster Fun treatments for cards that Wizards of the Coast revealed today. These cards take many notes from the comics proper, even going so far as to use art from said comics. To see artists like Todd MacFarlane, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby leave their mark upon Magic: The Gathering (quite literally, too!) is a breathtaking consideration. So, here are some of the Booster Fun cards you could see when opening packs of Marvel's Spider-Man:

Marvel's Spider-Man Bonus Sheet

But wait! There's one more thing to show you; this is the bonus sheet for the set. At the time of writing, we don't quite know the name of the sheet or the pull rate for cards within it. They don't even use the expansion symbol that Magic posited in their "Collecting" article. All we know is they're there! And with that, here are some of the cards you could reliably expect to see in the bonus sheet:

Conclusion

Marvel's Spider-Man releases on September 26th, with its Prerelease events occurring the week prior. Furthermore, Spidey will not be available on the Magic Arena or Magic: The Gathering Online client, and other Universes Beyond properties will not be present going forward either. Instead, these clients will have Through the Omenpaths, a mechanically identical set of cards with in-Multiverse flavor.

With that, let's go ahead and open the floor to you, dear readers! Do you like some of the cards shown today? Does the preview panel from PAX West open your mind at all to the Marvel's Spider-Man set? Would you play with any of the new cards from this expansion? Alternatively, how do you feel about the bonus sheet or Booster Fun variants? Sound off below!
