On Tuesday, June 3rd, Magic.gg, the competitive news hub for Magic: The Gathering events, released a bunch of dates for their upcoming events. These events include regional championship qualifiers (RCQs), Eternal Weekend, and their Spotlight Series. In the context of high-level events, Magic tournaments tend to offer promotional cards to either participating players or those who finish well. The events they're teasing here are no exception! Below are the promo cards and dates for events that Magic is hosting soon.

RCQ Promos

First, let's look at the RCQ promotional cards. According to the article on Magic.gg:

The third round of 2025–26's RCQs will begin on August 2, 2025, and will run until November 9, 2025. All WPN stores, as well as destination event organizers, will be running RCQs that feed into the round of Regional Championships that runs from January 24, 2026, to March 22, 2026.

RCQs run during this round can be scheduled by participating WPN stores as Standard Constructed or Limited. Larger events that are designated as "destination" qualifiers—events run in larger venues such as hotel ballrooms or convention centers—may be run as other Constructed formats. Please check with your local organizer for all specific info on qualifiers closest to you.

Spotlight Series: Planetary Rotation Promo

The next promotion we will look at is for an event in the Magic Spotlight Series called "Planetary Rotation". According to Magic.gg the event will feature Standard Constructed, with the following promo card (image credited to Wizards of the Coast):

With the release of Edge of Eternities on August 1, 2025, Standard will rotate, marking a massive shift in the format we know and love. You can join in the fun of this fresh and futuristic format at Magic Spotlight: Planetary Rotation, held at SCG CON Orlando from August 29–31.

More information about the Magic Spotlight Series will come in late July, so stay tuned.

Eternal Weekend Promotional Cards
