Over the past few play seasons, Magic: The Gathering has offered players some really cool promotional cards. With the Edge of Eternities play season just past the horizon, Wizards of the Coast has continued this trend! On Wednesday, July 9th, Wizards revealed the play season promos for this new set. Let's take a look!

Edge of Eternities Commander Box League

First off, Wizards is pushing their Commander Box League concept towards players. The promo for participating in this league event is a retro-frame, traditional foil copy of Palladium MyrPalladium Myr (image credit: Wizards of the Coast).

Magic Academy

Players who buy an introductory Magic product between August 1st and September 18th will receive a promotional card for their foray into the game (while supplies last). The promo is a retro-frame, traditional foil copy of Trinket MageTrinket Mage!

According to Wizards, "Intro products include Starter Kits, the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box or Starter Collection, and six or more Play Boosters from a set. That last one includes Bundles and Play Booster boxes." Furthermore, new players can also receive a sticker sheet themed after Edge of Eternities to give their deck boxes some added style points.

Standard Showdown

For the Standard Showdown event, players will receive a retro-frame, traditional foil copy of Monstrous RageMonstrous Rage. Recently, Monstrous Rage caught the banhammer in Standard. However, Wizards of the Coast has addressed the untimely nature of this promo by mentioning that it's still a usable card in Pioneer.

Store Championship

Next on the docket, there are three promotional cards for the Store Championship events at your participating local game store! Participants will receive a copy of Bitter TriumphBitter Triumph, the Top 8 players will receive a copy of Slickshot Show-OffSlickshot Show-Off, and the Store Champion themselves will receive a traditional foil, borderless copy of Fable of the Mirror-BreakerFable of the Mirror-Breaker!

These are some pretty intense and fun events, so if you're in the business of playing Standard, you might want to consider attending your local Store Championship event!
