We know that Dragon Shield makes great sleeves, but are they good enough to protect your cards... in the treacherous conditions of outer space? Let's find out.

Dragon Shield in Space

Dragon Shield has announced that they teamed up with Beckett to send a Pokémon card into space to test how the card would hold up in their sleeves.

Prior to the launch, the card got a rare 10 grading (known as "black label") from Beckett, which is the highest grade possible. Would the sleeves protect the card enough that it would still be a 10 when it came back from space?

To find out, watch this thrilling video released today by Dragon Shield, which details the journey from planning, to launch, to retrieval, and the final answer of whether or not a TCG card can survive in space.

Auction for a Good Cause

This card's incredible journey doesn't end there! Now that it's returned from space, it's time to put it to real use. On November 12th, Dragon Shield will auction off the space-faring card to benefit The Toy Foundation, a non-profit that provides toys to children in need throughout the U.S.

The auction will run from November 12th to the 19th. If you want to get in on the bidding action, head here on the 12th. We'll be sure to update this article with the final sale price when we have it.
