The writer for Untold Stories: Elspeth is Dan Watters, who recently wrote TMNT: Shredder. According to Dark Horse Comics, here is the summary for the miniseries:

Elspeth is dead. But her story is not yet over.

The sun god Heliod, having grown envious of his champion, struck her down to the underworld. There, she is forced to relive the worst moments of her life for all eternity. But Elspeth does not submit to despair—she emerges from each conflict a greater hero than before. And for a great hero like Elspeth, what is death but another challenge to overcome?

In the past, Wizards of the Coast has collaborated with comic companies such as IDW to bring their stories to a visual storytelling medium. However, licensing issues imply that we won't likely see any new characters from the comics on cards, at least in the near future (incidentally, this is part of why Wizards killed Dack FaydenDack Fayden during War of the Spark).
